Tiger Wilderness & Wine Tours (TWT)
We have been serving the Tasmanian tour market for 10 years. TWT is a family operated business. My partner Julie and I carry out daily
operations.
We operate from Launceston, Australia's third oldest city situated in Northern Tasmania. We don't have a tour office in Launceston, in fact we don't
have a walk-in office anywhere, we handle everything from our home base.
Our Launceston based day tours are around the spectacular Tamar Valley and Pipers Brook wine regions. Regions rich in interesting history, culture,
food and wine with lovely mountain and river scenery.
We offer original day tours to Cradle Mt National Park. Our Cradle Day Tour features a visit to a cool climate glow-worm cave. I've lost
count of the opposition tour companies who try and copy our Cradle Tour. Our Cradle Day Tour is my favorite day out.
Bushwalkers transport to Tasmania's Overland Track is a really important part of our business, not a sideline. Premium services from airports to tracks
and back again make it so easy for time poor walkers. We provide transfers to many of the states best walking tracks and parks.
That's what we do and to keep it simple we do our very best to send our guests home happy!
Nothing too serious.......Cheers Lee

Hey!.... MULTI AWARD WINNING
We're not a multi-award winning tour company because we don't have the time and resources to enter self indulgent "big business" competitions!
Contemplated the idea several times until a new tour company that had been operating just one season, wins a state competition, then in a few months shuts
down!

The National Tourism Accreditation Program
An important initiative of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania. The program is designed to raise the professionalism of the industry through the
implementation of business management practices and standards.
The Tourism Accreditation Program is a business development tool that is based on Quality Assurance Principles and is aligned to the Australian and International
Standards for Quality Management Systems - ISO 9002. Our business undergoes a compliance audit to review our Tourism and Transport Operations every two
years.

Public Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
All providers of public passenger services must be accredited by the Transport Commission. We have maintained our certificate of compliance.
A public passenger service is either:
- a regular passenger transport service;
- or any transport service involving a motor vehicle that is used or hired, together with a driver, for the carriage of passengers for reward;
- or any transport service involving the hiring out of a large passenger vehicle, together with a driver, to carry passengers.
Accreditation means the operator has processes in place to ensure safety of service, certification of drivers and other related matters. This is
confirmed at regular, scheduled intervals by an authorised, independent auditor.

The Tasmanian Tiger
This animal is generally considered to be extinct, however there is still a reward for any information that proves it still exists. There have been
numerous reported sightings, but none have developed into anything positive.
Many people believe that it still exists in the Tasmanian wilderness, but so far, no proof.
The tragedy is that its extinction was totally unnecessary. It was widely known that the species was endangered and several calls were made to have it
protected, but the Government of the day refused to take the necessary steps to protect the tiger.
The closest living relative is the Tasmanian Devil, which is itself an endangered species.

Vehicle Maintenance
Our bus services are scheduled and carried out by qualified personnel.
What we do to maintain our small fleet:
- Routine services and safety checks completed every 10,000km
- Mandatory Public Vehicle inspection audits every 6 months
- Tourism & Transport Accreditation audits every two years
- Pre-departure road worthy and safety inspection checks before each days operation
- Late model vehicles in use, they comply or exceed ADR engineering and safety specs (Australian Design Rules)
- Tyres are replaced at around 35,000km or earlier
- Key replacement parts are genuine Toyota spares
- All vehicle servicing and safety inspection procedures are documented
- We detail and clean our vehicles before each activity, vehicle exteriors and underbody are washed, windows cleaned, tyres shined. Interiors, floors vacuumed
and washed, seatbelts and seat covers wiped and vacuumed, windows cleaned

Environment Protection
What we do to minimise our environmental impact:
- We buy unleaded fuel containing 10% ethanol
- We actively minimise the use of water for vehicle washing
- We pay an environmental levy for the safe disposal of used vehicle parts/tyres and fluids
- We recycle waste items left on our bus
- You'll hear about the environmental impact of human activity in the places we visit and we strive to let you know how you can minimise your impact
- If you use airline travel to visit Tasmania, why not pay a carbon tax with the purchase of your ticket to offset your carbon footprint. Our carbon
footprint is insignificant compared to air-travel.
- We use renewable energy for all domestic and business power consumption.
