Tamar River views as we leave Launceston for the North East region.

Lilydale township, the town of painted poles and home to small farms in the surrounding valleys.

Lebrina to Bridestowe there are fine views of the northeastern mountains.

The Lavender Farm, time to walk the fields, take a guided visit to the distillery  (in season only) see how the French lavender oil is carefully distilled from the harvest..  There's a video presentation at other times.

Did you know that Bridestowe is still a wonderful place to tour when the rolling hills are spring green?

Lavender Heaven is here at the Bridestowe shop, with its fine range of lavender products and knowledgeable staff .  Credit cards and orders taken.

Relax and enjoy a complimentary lavender muffin, lavender tea or coffee.  The Café has light snacks and lavender ice creams too.

Free photos taken in the beautiful fields and saved on your private web page as a lovely memento.

Sample, lavender cheeses, chocolates and other surprises.

Wine tasting starts on our way home, we sample fine sparkling wines at the Jansz Wine Room.

Jansz sparkling wines are made in the traditional French Champagne method.  We have fun with a wine tasting lesson and walk into the vineyard for a seasonal overview of the vines.

We travel down the Pipers River Valley past tiny vineyards and farms.

Leisurely return to Launceston though the Lalla Gully and  Bangor Valley.
